Coming off a triumphant sold-out show backing dub legend Lee “Scratch” Perry at the Star Theatre in early September, Subatomic Sound System returns for a solo gig for the Portland massive, accompanied by Seattle-based ragga MC Mista Chatman.

Joining the headliners will be some of Portland’s top selectors of dub, bass, dancehall and related genres, including

The Dub Champions festival warms up on the first night with a NYC institution: Deadly Dragon Sound‘s weekly rub-a-dub party, right around the corner from the Deadly Dragon record shop: all vinyl selectors (aka DJs) with DJs (aka MCs) rocking the mic, preserving the Jamaican sound system culture from which dub originally evolved.
